An innovation at the 2015 championship show was the sponsored special prize money classes, which give an opportunity for an aspiring judge. It was very pleasing to see a good entry although a few absentees in the dog class.
Judge Mrs Janette Callon (Rustam).

CYSTINURIA IN IRISH TERIERS

When a genetic test is available breeders can ensure that no more dogs are bred that are
affected with the condition.
Cystinuria is a rare condition -we are appealing for small blood samples
(with veterinary reports and pedigrees) from any affected Irish Terriers to forward to
Dr Prof Leeb's department at University of Berne, Switzerland.
See "Cystinuria" page under IT information menu. Click this link

Hyperkeratosis

DNA testing is now being carried out at the UK Laboratory, Animal DNA Diagnostics
(Registered by the Kennel Club).
The test costs £40 plus VAT and can be performed at home using mouth swabs sent to you by:
Animal DNA Diagnostics.
